Handmade Gift Exchange Part 2

I recently posted about signing up for the Handmade Gift Exchange through Craftaholics Anonymous. This is the first time for me to participate and I was super excited to make something fun for my partner.

I had seen these rosette necklaces all over blog land and had wanted to make one.

Jen, from Tatertots and Jello, also recently posted a tutorial on a beachy rosette necklace and I knew this is what I wanted to make for the exchange.

My partner told me that her favorite colors were red and silver. So the first thing I did was to get red fabric and a silver piece of felt.

Then I made several different rosettes in varying sizes. There's lots of tutorials online on how to make fabric rosettes. The method I used was to cut the fabric in 2 inch. strips and then tied a knot at one end. Then I folded the strip in half and twisted the fabric around and around, using hot glue to secure the fabric every half turn or so.

I laid out the rosettes in the pattern I wanted and then cut the felt to use as the backing of the rosettes.

I bought a basic silver chain from Michael's and glued that to the back of the felt.

And there you have it. Super cute and easy.

Be sure and check out all the other fun projects people made for the exchange over at Craftaholics Anonymous.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

With Love,
