12 Days of Christmas:: How To Decorate For Winter

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now that Christmas is over, it's time to take down the Christmas decorations. I usually leave mine up until New Year's and take them down right after. I love Christmas decorations and try and enjoy them for as long as possible :) (Don't worry, I'm not one of those people that has their Christmas decorations up come February.)

After I take down my decorations, I always feel like my place feels so bare. Do you feel that way too? Even though the holidays are over, there are ways that you can decorate your home for winter.

When I think of winter decor, I think of neutral colors. Lots of whites & creams and natural elements. Here are some ways we can add some seasonal touches during the upcoming winter months.

Incorporate some fresh greenery or leftover greenery from your Christmas decorations. I love how this fresh greenery was wrapped around these candles.

You may have used pinecones in your Christmas decor this year. Instead of tossing them or boxing them up, keep them out during the next few months of winter.

I'm loving all the birchwood I've seen floating around online. Add birchwood elements here and there to really make your place feel super cozy during winter.
And lastly, add some cozy throws or rustic/cozy pillows to your seating areas.

I won't be sad this year when the Christmas decorations come down. I'll just use it as an excuse to find some cozy winter decorations to put in its place. :)
