12 Days of Christmas:: Stockings

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I mentioned on Friday how I was itching to change up my Christmas decorations to a more neutral color scheme. A few weeks ago GroopDealz had a deal on burlap Christmas stockings. If you haven't heard of GroopDealz, it's a lot like Groupon, except for handmade shops, mainly Etsy shops.

I went ahead and snagged a pair since it was such a great deal.

I figure I'm one step closer to my more neutral Christmas color scheme :)

Stockings are a fun part of Christmas decorations. After all, it is where Santa stashes his goodies for us ;)

There are so many varieties of stockings. Different shapes, styles, colors, etc. You can even take a basic/plain stocking and add some of your own flare.

Like these basic white stockings from Censational Girl. She made her own felt poinsettias to add a cute touch.

I love the unique shape of these stockings. Feels very retro.

You can make your own basic stocking from burlap (we all know my obsession with burlap) and attach some fun/quirky letters for each member of the family.

I wanted to throw in these last two images not so much on their variety but on how they are being used.

I love the idea of adding greenery and ornaments in stockings. Makes it look they are full of goodies for the whole month, not just the day of Christmas.

If you're like me and don't have a gorgeous mantle to hang your stockings from, a cute idea is to hang them from the foot of your bed.

P.S. Doesn't that room look so cozy & dreamy?

So what kind of stockings do you have at home? Are you more traditional in the shape/color or do you go for the more quirky/fun style?
