Gender Neutral Bedrooms:: Guest Post

Today I have a special guest post.

Since I'm a single gal, I don't have to worry about making sure my decor, specifically for my bedroom, is gender neutral. I can make it as frilly and girly as I would like. :) But, for those of you with significant others, I'm sure it can be tough to accommodate both of your styles.

So today I have Jessica who works for Arcadian Lighting here to give you guys some ideas on how to achieve that gender neutral look. Take it away Jessica!

Hi! I'm Jessica with Arcadian Lighting, a blog and website with the latest in interior designs and a wonderful variety of light fixtures to choose from. I'm delighted to be guest posting for Megan today. If you happen to be sharing a bedroom with your significant other, you may be encountering a difference of opinions. If one of you wants things to be a little more feminine or a little more masculine than the other, have a look at these gender neutral bedrooms for ideas. Enjoy!
Gender Neutral
A light grey wall color makes the perfect canvas for dark wood furniture and pops of red. The colors are warm and inviting without seeming too masculine or feminine.
Gender Neutral
An eclectic mix of plaid and floral patterns brings together girly and boyish elements without clashing. The skull artwork is daring, and the blue owl lamp is adorable.
Gender Neutral
This very neutral and minimally decorated room is perfect for anyone. The wood lattice pendant light is a lovely bit of texture and creativity.

The rustic wood headboard that reaches all the way across the ceiling makes this bedroom feel cozy and unique. The petite potted plants and framed butterflies are wonderful natural accents. Low hanging chandeliers are such an unexpected bit of glamour.
Gender Neutral
Exposed ceiling beams and distressed white paint makes this attic bedroom fresh and romantic. The pale plaid headboard and thick cozy blankets are a wonderful place to snuggle up for the night. I especially love the tiny writing desk and fall leaves on the curtains.
Gender Neutral
The rustic cabin details in this urban bedroom look perfect against the expansive windows. A ceramic jug with flowers are a pretty touch.
Gender Neutral
Another urban bedroom, the mix of floral patterns and tropical décor make this room fitting for just about anyone. With a combination of ceiling lights, it's just plain chic and cool.
Gender Neutral
This all-white apartment is contemporary and gender neutral. The black and white print of New York city dominates the room, giving it an edgy, yet sophisticated feel.

Today, I'm enjoying a lovely day off work due to the holiday. Planning to get brunch with some friends and then hopefully catch up on my blog reading this afternoon. What about you? Any fun plans if you have the day off?
