The Plaid Apron

Like I mentioned on Friday, me and a few friends took a little trip down to Knoxville, TN to visit The Plaid Apron.

A friend of mine opened The Plaid Apron last month and we were trying to plan a weekend to go down and try it out. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint!

What makes them unique is that they are a farm to table restaurant. They use only the freshest products available and keep it as local as possible by buying from local farmers.

The space used to be a coffee shop before. Bonni (and team) certainly turned it into a really cozy and inviting space. Here are a few before pictures to give you an idea of how they changed the space.

They opted to re-paint the space with cooler colors (blues and greys), but add warmer undertones with the colorful artwork on the walls and keeping the dark floors and ceiling.

They also added some really cute elements like the mason jar lighting and chalkboards.

They are also planning to use this room as a family farm table style type dining environment. Groups of people can get together and eat around a handmade farm table. Love that!

I love all the handmade and personal touches they added to the restaurant. Makes it feel very 'homey' and local. They even have mason jars for glasses. Too cute!

If you are in or around the Knoxville area anytime soon, be sure and stop by! You can also stay up to date on the latest from the cafe' on Twitter and Facebook.

I also scored this super cute chalkboard/frame while we were out shopping in Market Square in downtown Knoxville. I'm excited to get this up on one of our walls!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

With Love,
