Take A Peek:: Home of Funky Junk Interiors

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Today, I'm bringing you a tour of Funky Junk Interiors. Donna is the mastermind and face behind Funky Junk. The story behind how her blog and her business came about is truly extraordinary and inspiring.

After renovating her home, she was left with very little money to decorate. She took what some people would think as a limitation and pushed her creativity to turn 'junk' into amazing decor and also into a business. She even says, the best thing that ever happened to her was 'not being able to afford what I desired.'

Her home is filled with everyday items and previously discarded pieces used in such unique ways. I'm seriously obsessed with her home and her creativity. Warning: be prepared to have your socks blown off!

Instead of carpeting the stairs, she painted the original wood herself.

She also used yardsticks to decorate the front of some of the stairs. So unique!

She transformed her unused dining room into an office.

You know I love a good use for old pallets! She used pallets and an old ladder to make her desk.

She also made a unique frame to put on one of her shelves in her office. She also has more unique frame ideas here.

She added legs to an old pallet to make a tv stand. Love! And, instead of curtains, she used 'gate screens.'

I know so many of us, myself included, have extremely small budgets when it comes to decorating. The economy is tough right now. I hope that Donna's home serves as an inspiration that you can still make your home beautiful on a tight budget and your limitation will hopefully help stretch your creativity and imagination so much more.

Donna is also participating in The Nester's 31 day series this month and providing tips on how to turn your blog into a business. Lots of great advice if you have a blog or are thinking about blogging!

Have any of you turned 'junk' into unique home decor?
