If you saw my tweets at all the last few weeks, you know that I have been working on another set design for work.
This time it was for Britt Nicole. Her album Gold comes out on March 26th.
With her album titled Gold, as you can probably guess, I went with a gold theme for decorations. :)
I had seen tissue paper pom poms around blogland for a while and always wanted to make some. I thought they would be perfect to hang from the ceiling and give a good 'textured' visual.
Here's an in progress shot I posted on Instagram
{Side note:: if you are on Instagram, I would love to follow you! I have a hard time 'finding' people on it to follow, so leave your username in the comments if you are! My user name is 'mbhandmade'}
Instead of just hanging them all individually from the ceiling, I wanted them to be a bit 'layered.' So I hung several on the same line in a row.
There were some that had three in a row and some that had two. And then I also hung a few just individually.
I had to be careful with going with a gold theme. I didn't want it to come across as too cheesy. I found some antique gold tissue paper and mixed in some white and shiny metallic gold tissue paper. I think having varying shades of gold and then also mixing in the white helped with the overall look.
I'll be posting a tutorial later in the week on how to make the tissue paper pom poms. They are super easy!
Here's a full shot of them after I hung them all. I also hung some gold fabric on either side of the screen to add just a little something else.
We also blew up her cover and put it on one of the side walls. It felt a little bare having just the cover up there, so I made a few extra pom poms and attached them to the wall.
Here's a full shot of the stage again with the fluorescent lights off and the stage lights on. Notice the pom poms on the stage? We thought the stage looked a little bare, so I made a few more pom poms to sprinkle around the front of the stage.
Close up of the right side of the stage.
For 'treats' we had cake pops, gold of course. ;) They were soo good!
I'll be posting more details and pictures about the dessert table & cake pops later in the week too.
I had fun with the gold theme and think it ended up looking pretty good. What do you think?
That looks wonderful Megan!!
